Refrigeration systems must operate using dry refrigerant. If water is present in refrigerant, it can cause a catastrophic breakdown of the system over time. The presence of moisture can cause oil breakdown and reactions within the system, causing acid formation which can greatly damage compressor hardware. Moisture can also freeze and build up in refrigerant lines, causing expansion and clogging, which leads to failure and refrigerant release.
To mitigate the damaging effects of moisture, molecular sieves can be used to capture the water from the refrigerant stream. Our molecular sieves are used globally in the refrigerant drying industry for this very purpose.
Our molecular sieves are used in both mobile and stationary refrigeration systems with top-end specifications for bead crush strength, adsorption capacity and attrition resistance.
