On September 11, 2024, Zeochem proudly celebrated 45 years of manufacturing at its Louisville, Kentucky plant. This momentous occasion marked a significant milestone in the company’s history, honoring the contributions of the Louisville team and highlighting the continued partnership between Zeochem and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear and members of Zeochem’s global management team. Among the highlights were speeches delivered by Dr. Alois Waldburg-Zeil, CEO of Zeochem, and Governor Beshear, reflecting on Zeochem’s journey and its future in Kentucky.
In his speech, Dr. Waldburg-Zeil emphasized Zeochem’s enduring commitment to Louisville and the pivotal role the plant has played in the company’s growth. “Zeochem has invested approximately 100 million USD in Louisville since 1979, focusing on key projects that have driven innovation and local job creation,” he stated. He also recognized the dedication of long-serving employees, thanking them for their years of service. “Our employees here in Louisville are the true authors of our success story. Many of them have been with us for well over 25 years, demonstrating unwavering dedication and commitment.”
Governor Beshear praised Zeochem for its contributions to Kentucky’s economic development and highlighted the state’s manufacturing strength. “When I travel, and I meet with business leaders, I get to talk about us. I get to talk about our people right here in Kentucky. What you do every day represents us so well on a global stage. It’s your quality as a workforce that helps us get that next opportunity or expansion,” Beshear said. He also touched on his commitment to building strong communities, with a focus on education, safety, and opportunities for future generations. This commitment, he remarked, is vital to ensuring that Kentucky remains an attractive place to live and work for Zeochem’s employees and their families.
The Governor also presented an official acclamation from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, celebrating Zeochem’s 45 years in the state and acknowledging its ongoing commitment and contributions to Louisville and Kentucky.
The event was not only a celebration of Zeochem’s achievements but also a testament to the strong partnership between Zeochem and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Dr. Waldburg-Zeil extended his gratitude to the local government, stating, “Support from Kentucky has allowed Zeochem to take significant steps forward, solidifying our presence and dedication to growth.”
As the company looks to the future, Zeochem remains committed to innovation and investment in Louisville. With continued projects, such as the expansion of the D-Plant and the ongoing collaboration with the Kentucky Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (KY FAME), Zeochem is well-positioned to continue with its legacy.
The 45th-anniversary celebration marked a time to honor the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to many more years of success.
