Dr. Alois Waldburg-Zeil, Austrian national, joined Zeochem as CEO in 2010.
Alois began his professional career as an auditor and served with KPMG from 1993 to 1997. Between 1997 and 2009 he held a range of management functions with the Süd-Chemie Group (now belonging to Clariant), including Head of the Groups Board Secretariat and Public Relations; Sales Manager EMEA; Global Financial Manager for Süd-Chemie Performance Packaging based in Paris, France; CEO of Süd-Chemie UK in Manchester, UK; and CEO of Süd-Chemie Zeolites GmbH in Bitterfeld, Germany.
Alois studied law at the Universities Bonn and Regensburg in Germany and passed the bar exam in 1992. He wrote his thesis at the University Salzburg in Austria on international trade law (United Nations Convention on Contracts for the international Sales of Goods).
In going the extra mile for Zeochem, Alois is motivated by working for the Schnorf family – Zeochem’s main shareholder – and for a company with more than 200 years of history. He is also driven by the opportunity to have an impact on the sustainable value creation for the next generation of the founding fathers. As the main contributor to CPH’s industrial activities, Alois focuses on developing Zeochem into a strong pillar for the Schnorf family in line with the strategy of the CPH Holding Group.
